Project 500

BOOKS ARE THE BRIDGE TO OPPORTUNITY

Project 500 is an initiative to give families access to the necessary tools to literacy by helping them build an in-home library of 500 books. Studies show that when kids have 500 books or more in their homes, their education is boosted 3.2 years on average.

HOW IT WORKS

Impact zone 1

100 Books

Grade: Pre-School

Ages: 0-4

Books Given to Each Household: 100

Empowered Readers partners with Pediatricians to get books in the hands of families at their scheduled Well Visits from birth to age 4. Each registered household will receive 100 books while in this Impact Zone.

Impact zone 2

100 Books

Grade: PreK

Ages: 4-5

Books Given to Each Household: 100

Children receive books weekly from partner PreK programs that participate in our Adventure Time Readers Club program. Each registered household will receive 100 books while in this Impact Zone.

Impact zone 3

300 Books

Grade: K - 3rd

Ages: 5-9

Books Given to Each Household: 300

Children receive books weekly from partner Title 1 Atlanta Public Schools that offer our free Adventure Time Readers Club program. Each registered household will receive 300 books while in this Impact Zone.

their quality of life!
